Emerson is seeking a skilled Software Developer for its Noida technology center, offering an exciting opportunity to work on industrial automation and control systems that power critical infrastructure across process industries, manufacturing, and energy sectors. As a Software Developer at Emerson, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions for Emerson's portfolio of automation products including distributed control systems (DCS), safety systems, and industrial software platforms. Your responsibilities will include developing desktop and web applications, building integration layers for industrial equipment, implementing communication protocols, and ensuring software reliability in mission-critical environments. You will work with technologies including C#, C++, SQL databases, and industrial protocols like OPC, Modbus, and PROFINET. This role requires understanding of both software engineering best practices and industrial automation concepts. You will collaborate with global engineering teams in the US, Europe, and Asia on product development, participate in Agile sprints, and contribute to code reviews and technical documentation. Emerson's Noida center is a state-of-the-art facility with advanced labs where you can test software with actual industrial hardware. Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation, or related field is required. 1-3 years of experience in software development with proficiency in C#, C++, or Java is essential. Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles, design patterns, and software architecture is required. Experience with SQL databases and data modeling is expected. Knowledge of .NET framework and Windows application development is beneficial. Understanding of industrial automation concepts including PLC, SCADA, DCS, and industrial protocols is advantageous. Familiarity with version control systems like Git or SVN is required. Experience with REST API development and web services is a plus. Good problem-solving and analytical skills with ability to work on complex technical problems are essential. Strong communication skills for collaborating with global teams and documenting technical solutions are necessary. Candidates should have attention to detail, commitment to quality, and ability to work in fast-paced development cycles. Experience with Agile methodologies and test-driven development is preferred. Knowledge of industrial safety standards and cybersecurity for OT environments is valuable. Willingness to work from Noida office with occasional travel for training or client support is required.
